INFINIX
Infinix Hot Note X551 Specifications
Overview
The Infinix Hot Note X551 is one of the hottest
budget phablets on the market right now. The
Note X551 features some of the best technical
specifications that I have seen on a budget
handset.
The launch of the Infinix Hot Note X551 come
just weeks after the launch of the Infinix Hot
X507 and months after the unveiling of the
fantastic Infinix Zero.
Here is what the new Phablet on the block has to
offer.
Infinix Hot Note X551 Technical Specifications
Display
Display Size: 5.5 inches
Display Type: IPS
Screen Resolution: 720 x 1280 pixels
Screen Resolution Density: 267 ppi
Screen Protection: None
The Infinix Hot Note X551 display is in
comparison to the Infinix X507 0.5 inches larger
and generally more awesome.
The Note X551 features a 720 x 1280 pixels HD
display, and thus offers a crisp viewing
experience.
Design
Frame Dimensions: 155 x 77 x 8.9 mm
Weight: 172g
The Infinix Hot Note X551 is huge. It’s about the
same size as the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and is
a fine choice for buyers out shopping for monster
handsets.
Interestingly, the Infinix Hot Note X551 is just 4
grams lighter than the Galaxy Note 4. One can’t
help arguing that this could be a deliberate move
to make the Note X551 look and feel like the Note
4.
Performance
Operating System: Android 4.4 (KitKat)
CPU: Octa-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A7
RAM: 1GB
Internal Memory: 16GB
Micro SD: Yes, up to 32 GB
A Powerful Octa-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU
powers the Infinix Hot Note X551. This is a far
cry from the 2.7 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 805
CPU that powers the Galaxy Note 4.
However, taking price into consideration, Infinix
was extremely generous with the Infinix Note
X551. This is in the context that Quad-core CPUs
are pretty much a standard for devices in its price
range.
Other than that, you get 16GB internal memory
plus some 1 GB RAM for multi-tasking with the
Infinix Hot Note X551. This is exactly similar to
what you will get with the Infinix X507.
Camera
Rear Camera: 8 MP
Secondary Camera: 2 MP
LED Flash: Yes
An 8 MP Rear Camera and a 2 MP selfie camera
is what you get with the Infinix Note X551. A 5
MP selfie camera would have been awesome
considering that the feature is gradually becoming
the standard for mid-range devices, but I guess
that will be too much to ask from a budget
device.
Battery and Extras
Battery Capacity: 4000 mAh
The battery capacity of the Infinix Note X551 is
one of the best features of the device. The device
has one of the largest battery capacity for
devices in the market.
The 4000 mAh Note X551 battery beats the Li-
Ion 3220 mAh Galaxy Note 4 Battery and is just
100 units less than the Li-Po 4100 mAh battery
found on the Huawei Ascend Mate 7.
It is worth noting that Infinix brags that a 55-
minutes charging session of the Infinix Note X551
takes the device through a day and a half.
Extras
Dual SIM
Verdict
It is safe to say that the Infinix Note X551 is a
budget alternative of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
The Infinix Note X551 however, can’t really
compare much with the Galaxy Note 4. The
device is, however, still a fine choice for buyers
seeking for an awesome Phablet experience while
on a budget.
One of the interesting bits about the device is its
price. The Inifinix X507 is priced at about Ksh.
7,000 and this is just Ksh. 3000 less than the
Note X551.
It thus makes little economic sense to buy the
Hot X507 rather than the Note X551 (unless you
are very strict with your budget or are simply a
hater of enormous displays).
It is, however, a proven fact that Smartphone
buyers love large screens and my bet is that the
Infinix Note X551 will be a massive hit in Kenya.
